Warm air flowing from your vents

When running properly, your AC should push cold air out of every vent in your home. If you feel warm air from the vents, you could have an issue such as low refrigerant levels, a dirty evaporator coil, compressor (outside unit) or duct work problems.

Weak airflow from the vents

If the air flowing from your vents is significantly weaker than normal, your AC issue could range anywhere from a dirty air filter, which is a relatively quick fix, to a frozen evaporator coil, which is a more complex and often pricey repair.

Sudden weird noises.

Sudden loud or abnormal noises coming from your AC system usually indicates a problem. For example, a high-pitched screaming noise coming from your outdoor unit typically points to a malfunctioning compressor (the part that pumps refrigerant through the AC). 

Ice on your refrigeration lines, indoor unit or outdoor unit.

One common reason AC systems "ice up" is lack of airflow. Low airflow can be caused by clogged air filters, ductwork issues or a dirty/damaged blower. Another possible problem that causes ice buildup is low refrigerant levels caused by a refrigerant leak somewhere in the system.
